None of them [...] I wonder if Brief Interviews with Hideous Men could end up being the feel-bad movie of the year, even if it has some remarkably funny/awkward moments and some amazing writing. The movie(in theaters Sept ‘09) is adapted from the short story by David Foster Wallace, who hanged himself late last year. John Krasinski adapted the script and directs. Yes, the same Krasinski who stars [...] Fins, curving chrome bumpers, organically-shaped head- and taillight assemblies. Sculpted door latches. Louisville recently hosted the Street Rod Nationals, and those features were the delight of the show, at least for us non-motorheads who could maybe use a refresher course on the finer points of torque and turbocharging. I’m particularly fond of paint-jobs with those huge [...] “In fashion, one day you’re in and the next you’re Alf.” That crazy Heidi Klum has some crazy advice. David Foster Wallace released a fiction collection Brief Interviews with Hideous Men (Little, Brown 1999) three years after his critically acclaimed novel Infinite Jest. At just over 300 pages, it looks like little more than a footnote beside Infinite Jest’s thousand-plus-pages and three-inch profile.
